CEO Danil Platonov told About 2013 results and development perspectives in 2014
Danil Borisovich, please, tells us about High-Voltage Union Concern in 2013?
Last year was not easy for the Concern as well as for the whole machine building industry of Russia. The Ministry of Economic Development forecasts 0.1% of production growth in our country, and this practically means the stagnation. Unfortunately, we are not an exception of this trend.
Main customer of our products – power industry – is experiencing rough time due to the tariff freeze. Customers reduce investment programmes, the market of our products narrows down, and the competition grows. We understand that these are the trends common for all market actors, so we have decided to be as efficient as possible and to achieve highest results even in such conditions. And we have no doubts that this is feasible. We have done much work to develop the Concern's strategy for the next five years and adopted "road map" to move on.
Please, tell us what it is all about?
Our main priority is the expansion of the available market by means of entering new products and new geographical markets. Our Company has a huge experience in deliveries abroad, but the attention paid to this direction in previous years was not enough. It is appropriate to say here "Everything new is actually well-forgotten old", this is the case for us, and we are going to boost up in this direction.
Speaking about new products, I can say that we are going to renew and expand our product line with the latest and most efficient solutions. Our Company had united highly skilled specialists, despite the current difficulties, we managed to keep the potential and now lay hopes on the innovations. Moreover, we livened up the development of new products having created the special development department, defined the time to market new products, so I am sure that the product line of High-Voltage Union Concern will attract closer attention of customers as well as competitors
And of course, we are working on the quality of our products and processes, striving to increase our efficiency. Our Concern and Russian enterprises, in general, fail to keep up with the efficiency of foreign competitors. Being efficient worldwide is our priority task.
What is the main objective of development direction in 2014?
This year we will increase our presence in foreign markets, have preparation works for product certification and homologation.
Our Company will start transition to another production organization principle: supply chain management and production adjustment to local markets. We are faced with large-scale tasks, we have to implement all this promptly and efficiently, with correct emphases. There is English saying "Do or die" and I believe that the crisis challenges every company to make such choice.
However, this is very interesting time giving an opportunity to review critically one's vision and plans. In 2013 we managed to create a team of professionals: we are ready to implement our plans with them.
The team is also our advantage and key to success. In 2014 we are going to be more solidary and to achieve the result together. And I would like to thank our employees for their contribution to the common cause and for joint work.
